The “Build a Bike” Team Building Workshop is an exciting and dynamic training program that helps employees develop communication, project planning, decision-making and leadership skills while having fun. Teams are formed to assemble bikes to be donated to charity, and each team is asked to deliver a short presentation on their team building experience.
The workshop can be structured in a variety of ways, and activities may include:
- Form teams and choose team leaders
- Plan the project
- Assemble bikes out of the box
- Deliver team presentations on what worked well, what team members learned and what they would do differently
- Develop actions plan to apply what was learned to an upcoming company project
Teams feel a sense of pride and accomplishment knowing that their efforts will help a child in need. Participants leave the workshop with a renewed sense of camaraderie and greater appreciation for each other.
Workshops can be customized to meet a company’s requirements for topic and time. “Build a Bike” sessions can range from 2 – 6 hours in length, and longer sessions may include additional interactive exercises related to topics of particular interest to the organization, such as innovation/creativity, leadership, communication, goal setting, decision making, teamwork or interpersonal skills.
